Frequently Asked Questions

The IELTS Academic test measures English language proficiency for people who want to study at university or join professional organizations in English-speaking environments. It assesses four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
Our online IELTS practice tests are available for free. We also offer premium test packages with additional content, detailed analytics, and AI-powered feedback for a deeper preparation experience.
Each section is scored on a scale from 0 to 9 in half-band increments (e.g., 6.0, 6.5, 7.0). The Overall Band Score is the average of the four section scores, also rounded to the nearest half band.
The total test time is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes: Listening (30 min), Reading (60 min), Writing (60 min), and Speaking (11–14 min). The Speaking test may be taken on the same day or scheduled separately.
Most universities require an overall band score of 6.0 to 7.0, with no section below 5.5 or 6.0. Top-tier universities may require 7.0–7.5 or higher. Always check your target institution's specific requirements.
The mock test is a simulated assessment that aids in self-evaluation. However, the actual IELTS exam has stricter grading standards. The results should be used as a reference for preparation, not as an exact representation of your official score.
Your writing responses are assessed using AI-powered analysis based on the official IELTS assessment criteria: Task Achievement/Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy. You'll receive a band score estimate and detailed feedback.
